For two hundred years, every machine we built did our work on one condition: that we reshape ourselves around it. The factory set the pace and we matched it. Software came and we rebuilt our companies around it. Each wave took the work we redrew to fit it, and the rest, everything too messy or too human, stayed on us.
That condition just ended.
For the first time, a machine can do the work the way a person does it, on the same screens, in the same mess, with no one redrawing anything first. It does not ask us to meet it halfway. It comes to us.
I spent my career around the people who absorbed everything that didn't fit. Every company has one: the systems thinker who knows why the trade didn't settle and the three screens to fix it in, who quietly carries what sales overpromised and what the software never handled. The sharpest mind in the building, spending the day clicking. Pull them out for a week and you feel it by Wednesday.
The clicking is what goes away, and that is the point. We are not saving the task; we are giving back the person. They were never valuable for the clicking. They were valuable because they understand why things break, and that judgment is wasted holding a broken process together one fix at a time.
So we build agents that learn a company the way a new hire does: by doing the work and being corrected, until the way your firm works becomes something they carry, and keep, even when people leave. We are starting in the back office of finance, where the work is hard, the systems are old, and a mistake is expensive.
But what we are after is older than finance. It is the oldest promise technology ever made and never quite kept: that the machines would carry the work, so people could spend themselves on what only people can do. This time the machine comes to us.
